What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates nearly 100 years ago.

Pilates created this method by combining his knowledge of yoga, fitness and boxing with his experience rehabilitating injured soldiers in WWI in England. Joseph and his wife Clara moved to New York to put the method in practice - training and rehabilitating ballet dancers with great success. Over the years, modern techniques have influenced few changes to his original method. Today, it is still regarded as intelligent exercise.
